Yahoo on Wednesday unleashed oneConnect, dubbed a social address book, to Apple’s App store.
The application promises an address book that imports contacts from people’s Yahoo address book, social networks, and iPhone. It allows them to send instant or SMS messages.
"The iPhone has ignited and captured the imagination of what a mobile phone can do," Marco Boerries, executive vice president of Yahoo's Connected Life, said in a statement.
Yahoo’s application also allows people to monitor what’s happening across the various social networks they use. It supports Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, YouTube, Last.fm, Friendster, Bebo, and Dopplr.
The free application is now available for Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch devices and is expected to eventually support others.
