Google and Yahoo to Delay Ad Partnership

According to blogs and online rumors it seems that executives from both Yahoo and Google are to announce that the ad sharing deal, set to begin in the middle of October, will be put on hold.

Google had sought to co-op its advertising with Yahoo in an attempt to boost both companies revenues and also to help Yahoo thwart the hostile Microsoft-Karl Icahn take over bid earlier this summer.

The deal would provide the two dominant search companies an 80 percent majority of the search ad market, something that raised heckles and some antitrust eyebrows at the D of J as well as with a certain computer company in Redmond Washington.
