A new renewable energy company, Element Power, has been
formed with the help of former Commercial Director of Renewable Energy Systems
Group Mike O’Neill and Hudson Clean Energy Partners, a private equity firm in New
Jersey.
Operating
as an independent power producer, Element Power expects to obtain assets in greenfield
land, which describes undeveloped land, as well as brownfield land, which is
already-developed industrial land that is either underused or abandoned. The
company will focus on carbon-free wind and solar energy at utility scale.
John Cavalier, Co-Managing Partner of Hudson,
said in a statement that with the addition of O’Neill to the experienced staff,
they “have the seeds of a future renewable energy powerhouse in Element.
“Clearly we
are only beginning to build Element,” continued Cavalier, “and look forward to
many exciting announcements about future additions to the team.”
