German Couple Try to Sell Baby on eBay for 1 Euro

Authorities in the Southwestern Allgaeu region in Germany have arrested a couple and taken their seven-month old baby into custody after being tipped off by eBay users of the sickening post to sell the child for a what amounts to $1.60.

Just when I though it couldn't get any weirder...yes we know there have been some unusual posts of late on the popular auction site, including Ian Usher, the Yorkshireman living downunder posting his life for sale on eBay with a YouTube video back in March, but this latest post has to take the cake.

The mother stated that it was merely a joke, but the German police, not noted for their warped sense of humor, have decided to investigate into the possibility of child trafficking, which has been on the increase around the world. The posting was taken down by eBay two-and a-half hours after it was posted.

I'm sure there are millions of new parents that have been pushed to the edge of reason with their pressures of having a screaming baby, and this is far better option than leaving the child in a skip somewhere on the street, but I hope, for the child and the couple's sake, that this really was a very bad joke.
