Napster Launches All-You-Can-Eat Mp3's

Beginning today, Napster is to sell Mp3 enabling more people to have access to their music library. The songs downloaded as part of Napster's subscription service will still have copyright restrictions.

For the best part of a decade most labels have resisted the cry from convenience driven consumers, to dumb down the quality of their music, but due to diminishing CD sales it seems most have succumbed to the universal mp3. This is really an attempt to remain competitive and keep up with the massive success of Apple's iTunes Music Store and iPod sales.

Napster's mp3 downloads will retail at $0.99 each, with full album downloads starting at $9.95

Napster, which has a music catalog of over 6 million tracks, recently stated that it had about 760,000 subscribers as of March 2008
