Murdoch To Sign 50 Cent to MySpace for $300 Million

Yo Rupert, wassup dog? It looks like the publishing guru, Rupert Murdoch, is about to sign his fist A-list atrist to his fledgling MySpace Record label which was created back in 2005. The reported deal with 50 Cent for $300 million would give Murdoch's company complete control over 50 Cent's tours, books, movies and future albums.

50 Cent, and his fellow recording artists G-Unit, having completed obligations with current label Interscope Records, would then tour and release albums under the MySpace Record label. He will no doubt benefit from the global popularity of the social networking platform by being able to promote his material to the massive number of MySpace subscribers.

50 Cent seems to have quite a keen business sense in additon to his many musical talents. Three years ago he shrewdly invested in Glaceau, a vitamin infused water drink. When Coca-Cola bought the company last year 50 Cent walked away with an estimated $400 million and in addition the the cash he was able to keep his "Formula 50" grape-flavor drink that bears his name.

50 Cent, who's real name is Curtis Jackson, should perhaps consider a change in his stage name from 50 Cent to $50 Billion, as it is a little closer to his net worth!
