James Brian Sliter, a registered sex offender, is asking a small Dallas suburb to forgive him and let him prove he can be of service to his community.
Mr. Sliter, who was caught in an Internet sting 4 years ago, is "not asking the community to condone what he did, but to give him a chance."
Mr. Sliter was arrested after arranging to have sex with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl. Current Mayor Don Hudson has expressed his feelings on the matter, stating that "a sex offender serving as mayor put a stigma on the city."
Can I get an "Amen?" Honestly, what kind of morals would this man be setting forth after serving 10 years for arranging sex with a 15-year-old?
