While PlayStation 3 fans muddle their own Linux options, the WiiLi project is the open-source movement’s assault on Nintendo’s new game console. Enthusiasts have yet to get the OS to run on the new hardware, but aspiring hackers are making progress. Using LiiLi Live—a CD that turns standard PCs into media and gaming hubs designed around the Wii Remote—game nuts are already using their Wiimotes to do everything from control Google Earth to playing Half-Life 2.
