Adknowledge, a social ad network backed by Technology Crossover Ventures, has acquired the ad-serving business of Lookery.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company, based in Kansas City, Missouri, acquired Cubics, an advertising network targeting Facebook developers, in 2007.
Five-year-old Adknowledge runs a pay-per-click ad network positioned as an alternative to the platforms of Google and Yahoo. The auction-based system includes traffic from e-mail, search, display, and social advertising.
Closely held Adknowledge has more than 140 employees.
Lookery is based in San Francisco.
