2015, a Tulsa,Oklahoma-based video game developer, announced Wednesday that it has received several million dollars in funding.
The developer is known for its successful and popular games Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Men of Valor.
2015 primarily makes first-person shooters, but has announced a new division named Tornado Studios that will focus on mass market and casual gaming. Tornado, which is also located in Tulsa, is technically a new company, though it consists mostly of 2015 employees. RichValiquette, formerly at Electronic Arts, will act as Tornado’s director of development.
“The success of Nintendo’s latest consoles, and the recent growth of the casual market as a whole, has provided an incredible opportunity for us to reach a whole new adventure,” 2015 founder Tom Kudirka said in a statement.
2015 says that Tornado is currently working on a Wii title, which is set to be released Christmas of 2009, at which point 2015 may looki nto another first-person shooter or action game.
