A Kentucky woman is suing Apple over allegations her son’s iPod Touch exploded in his pocket while in class.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, claims the 15-year-old’s 16GB iPod Touch, still under warranty, caused second-degree burns.
“He continues to suffer from both physical and mental conditions which will cause him to suffer pain, mental distress, emotional distress, and otherwise for the rest of his life,” the suit said.
The student’s mother, Lynette Antrobus, picked her son up from school and took him to a doctor.
The family is seeking $225,000 in damages from Apple.
