Hudson Clean Energy Partners will add another company to its ranks. The private equity firm announced Wednesday that its portfolio company Element Power has acquired Madrid, Spain-based Helium Energy.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Helium, a renewable energy development company that has constructed several solar projects throughout Europe, will be integrated into Element Power.
Element Power was formed in July to provide carbon-free, utility-scale wind and solar power.
“This [Helium] is a management team that has very successfully executed the development and delivery of thousands of megawatts of renewable energy around the globe,” Hudson Co-Managing Partner John Cavalier said in a statement.
Helium has over 4,000MW of renewable energy projects under development in Europe and Latin America, and these projects will be headed by both Helium founder Pedro Barriuso and Mike O’Neill, who helped form Element Power with Hudson.
