Intel on Friday reached out to acquire OpenedHand.
“Intel will continue supporting open-source projects currently led by OpenedHand staff such as Clutter and Matchbox projects,” Opened Hand said in a statement posted to its web site.
The Santa Clara, California, chip company will fold OpenedHand into its open-source development efforts that focus on the Moblin software stack, one that’s optimized for its Atom chips.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Shares of Intel declined $0.72, or 3 percent, at $22.87.
