Jim Greer, formerly of casual gaming giant Pogo, is building a new game network targeted at independent developers. He said his company, Kongregate, plans to launch its initial offering in early 2007. The product will be a web site with user-submitted games featuring microtransactions. Players will pay small fees for additional levels or game features, and the income stream is shared with developers. Think AddictingGames with a revenue model beyond video ads.
